WHAT IS

1291 Jewelry makes sculptural rings from three materials: reclaimed plastic, recycled gold or platinum, and responsibly sourced gemstones.

Each ring is designed in Switzerland, made by hand.

The three materials are not a concept. They are a decision: that the hierarchy of what belongs in fine jewelry is worth questioning. That plastic, shaped well and placed deliberately, earns its position beside gold and stone.

The designer — Jessica De Ry

1291 Jewelry portrait

Jessica De Ry’s work is shaped by a combination of precision, independence, and lived experience across the worlds of jewelry, art, and design.

Her journey began in Paris, where she founded her first gallery dedicated to antique and 20th-century jewelry. She later established a boutique in St. Barthélemy, expanding her perspective internationally — from Europe to Asia, and into high jewelry leadership roles in Switzerland.

Rather than following trends, De Ry creates objects with permanence — designed to endure, both in construction and in meaning. Her jewelry is made for those who value essential pieces: precise, deliberate, and quietly expressive.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Each ring passes through three disciplines: the lapidary who shapes the stone, the goldsmith who works the metal, and the maker who forms the plastic. Three practitioners, each working within their material.

The rings are produced in small quantities, often made to order. Each one is finished by hand. Pieces are not sold online — appointments for private viewing are available in Zurich and Lucerne.
